Sports Sciences & Physical Education

In line with the University’s mission and vision, the Department of Sports Sciences & Physical Education is committed to academic excellence and professional relevance in the SUIT society. To enhance continuously the quality of our mission, all teaching staff members are actively engaged in research projects that investigate issues specifically related to sports and physical activities; and their influence on health from different perspectives. Our research not only links us to the international scientific community but also influences local professionals in the fields of sports, exercise, and health-related industries, including school and out-of-school settings.

The basic motto behind the establishment of Department of Sports Sciences, Sarhad University is to fill the gap of supply & demand of Sports Sciences professional in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and to become a leading body in the region.

To develop a quality physical education program that emphasize enjoyable participation in physical activities; to help students develop the knowledge, attitude, motor skills, social skills and confidence needed to begin and maintain a healthy physically active lifestyle for the rest of their life.

Seminar on Sports Sciences Physical Education held

Professor Dr Anita Hockleman has said that significance of sports and its vital role for the promotion of society is of supreme importance and could not be undermined.

On 24 September 2016​. The seminar was attended by people associated with the field of Health and Physical Education across the province.

Acting Vice Chancellor Dr Nazir Shah Khattak, ​Dean, Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences & Education​​ Dr Abdul Waheed Mughal and other ​faculty members were present on the occasion.She said that the private universities are investing significant amount for reforming sports sector and promote healthy activities for youths. She said that the sport provide talented youth to realize their potential and abilities.

Dr Anita said that the ambit of sports sciences has been increased to Sports Journalism, Sports Management, Sports Marketing, Sports Engineering and others.

She said that the importance of sports has been increasing day by day. She said that sports increase the capabilities of youth and make them a useful part of society.
