Dear Students, welcome to the Department of Pharmacy, Sarhad University of Science & IT Peshawar. Only one out of every three thousand students gets admission in Pharmacy. This privilege imposes a great responsibility on you. You should remember that the money spent by your parents on your education is earned by the sweat and toil by your parents who deny themselves all the pleasure and comforts of life. You owe it to yourself and parents, to take full advantage of this opportunity and fully equip yourself with latest knowledge in the field. Only by hard work and sense of dedication you can re-pay to some extent the debt that you owe to your parents.
The Department of Pharmacy at Sarhad University, Peshawar was established in 2004. In response to increasing needs of better drugs delivery system in hospitals, community pharmacy and pharmaceutical industry. The department has well equipped laboratories to cater the needs of teaching as well as practical requirements.
Moreover, departmental library is sufficiently stocked with books on almost all topics and subjects in Pharmacy. Recently as part of up-gradation program many equipment’s, apparatus and books are added to laboratories and library, respectively. Beside departmental library, the Department of Pharmacy, possesses HEC on-line digital library linked to a considerable number of world renowned libraries.
The department has 26 full time faculty members having PhD, M Phil, Masters, Pharm-D and B-Pharm Degrees with extensive teaching and professional experience. The core visiting faculty comes from medical colleges, Public sector universities and pharmaceutical industry. Our Pharm-D course is accredited by Pharmacy Council of Pakistan and recognized by HEC. F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) or A-Levels with equivalency certificate from IBCC Islamabad with at least 60% marks or an equivalent certificate from a recognized institution are eligible to apply. Candidates need to pass an entry test and an aptitude interview conducted by the University.
The Pharm D program caters increasing needs of pharmaceutical care, drug delivery systems, drug distribution, storage, hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy, drug information systems and pharmacetucial industries. In area like productions. quality control, quantity assurance, validation, research and development, product management, training, warehouse management, logistic and drug registration systems not only in Pakistan but in Middle East, Europ, Canada and USA.
