The 11TH EMS International Research Conference under the theme Economic Freedom and Prosperity through Interdisciplinary Insights (January 11-13, 2024) successfully concluded in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The conference provided an avenue for researchers to present their research paper in the main three fields of Social Sciences, Medical & Health Sciences, and Engineering & Technology Sciences.
The Conference was a joint venture of Experts in Management and Social Sciences, an organization registered with Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, Sarhad University of Science & IT, Peshawar, Pakistan Council of Sports Sciences (PCOSS) and Yuzuncu Yil University, Van Türkiye.
The President, Sarhad University, Peshawar, Mr. Muhammad Riaz Karim was the Chief Guest of the conference. He expressed his pleasure by stating that it is the basic function of the universities not only to create knowledge but also to disseminate it. The events like these, are no doubt, the necessity of the hour, he added. He appreciated the efforts of EMS, Sarhad University, and PCOSS for arranging this international academic event in the sacred city of Makkah which also provided the participants with the chance to perform Umra. He congratulated all the participants for performing Umrah viz a viz conducting a successful Conference. He also appreciated the participation of Yuzuncu Yil University Van, Türkiye and for their collaboration with different organizations and universities of Pakistan. He urged upon the need of such academic collaborations among different universities around the globe.
Prof. Dr. Salim-ur-Rehman, Vice Chancellor, Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology, Peshawar delivered his keynote speech during the Conference. Besides him, Prof. Dr. Selahattin Sönmezsoy, Faculty of Theology, Van Yuzuncu Yil University, Türkiye; Askin Sen, M.D., Medical Genetics Department, Genetic Diseases Evaluation Center, Firat University Hospital also delivered keynote speeches in their respective fields. The conference was also attended by Prof. Adbul Waheed Mughal, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology Peshawar, professors, scholars, researchers and a large number of students.
In his welcome address Dr. Shahid Jan Kakakhel, Chief Executive, EMS warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and participants. He also thanked them for honoring this occasion and facilitating them to conduct this conference. He specially thanked Prof. Dr. Salim-ur-Rehman for his overwhelming support in arranging such an important international event.
It may be noted that this was the 9th Conference of the series that Sarhad University has jointly been conducting with EMS. Out of these 9 conferences, 7 conferences were conducted online.
As per Conference statistics, 200 research papers were received for presentation, out of which, the relevant scrutiny committee accepted 101 abstracts. Out of these 101 accepted abstracts 54 got registered for presentation in person and through virtual means. In person presentations were made on January 11, 2024 in different parallel sessions while the virtual presentations were made on January 13, 2024.
The conference was attended by the researchers from from Pakistan, Oman, Türkiye, India, England, China, Malaysia, and Korea.
Dr. Zekeriya Nas, who was representing Yuzuncu Yil University, the collaborating university from Türkiye thanked the President, Sarhad University, Peshawar, Executives of EMS Peshawar, keynote speakers and all the participants for being part of this international event. He hoped that the next conference will be held in Istanbul, Türkiye for which the Chairman HEC will be invited as Chief Guest.
