There was a dire need to revamp the existing 5-year LLB Programme and to bring it in line with international best practices and the HEC Undergraduate Education Policy V 1.1. In this regard, the Pakistan Bar Council together with its Directorate of Legal Education (DLE) proposed the reduction of LLB degree from five to four years to align it with all other undergraduate degrees in Pakistan and make it more competitive. The new four-year LLB Programme is a comprehensive undergraduate degree designed to equip students with a strong foundation in legal principles, critical thinking, and practical skills necessary for a successful career in law. Combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on learning, the curriculum covers core areas such as Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Contract Law, Property Law, and Legal Ethics, alongside specialized electives and clinical legal education as one of its seminal features. The programme emphasizes research, advocacy, and legal writing, preparing graduates to pursue careers as legal practitioners, judges, academics and policy makers, or to further their studies in advanced areas of law.

To enable the students to:
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of core areas of law including constitutional law, criminal law, civil law, administrative law, international law, and legal procedures.
Graduates will uphold principles of sustainable legal practice and demonstrate global citizenship by respecting cultural diversity, adapting to diverse legal systems, and contributing to legal solutions that address global, social, and environmental challenges.
Display strong oral and written communication skills, legal drafting expertise, and persuasive advocacy in both academic and professional environments.
Serve as advocates for marginalized communities and work toward the protection and promotion of human rights, gender justice, and equality in line with national priorities.
Contribute to building strong legal and democratic institutions by engaging in judicial, legislative, and policy-making roles.
Demonstrate leadership and teamwork in diverse legal settings, including law firms, courts, public offices, NGOs, and international forums, promoting partnerships for justice and development.
After completion of the program, the scholars will be able to::
Conduct effective legal research using appropriate methods and sources; analyze legal problems critically and formulate reasoned legal arguments and solutions.
Apply principles of legal ethics and professional responsibility, demonstrating integrity, confidentiality, and a commitment to justice and fairness in all professional conduct.
Communicate legal arguments clearly and persuasively in written and oral form, including through legal drafting, client consultation, and courtroom advocacy.
Advocate for the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms, gender equality, and access to justice, aligned with the values of democracy.
Apply legal knowledge in both national and international contexts, understanding cross-border legal systems, treaties, and global justice challenges.
