SUIT secured 9 th position nationwide in the British Parliamentary Debate Competition organized by NUST, Islamabad
Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology, Peshawar secured 9th position nationwide in the British Parliamentary Debate Competition organized by NUST, Islamabad under the Uraan Pakistan & Young Peace Development Corps initiative of the Ministry of Planning & Development, Islamabad. Among 65 participating universities, SUIT ranked #1 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, showcasing the strong debating and analytical skills of its students. The SUIT team consisting of Zamzama, Pashma Arshad, Aarish Hussain, and Laiba Dawood performed impressively on debate topics based on the 5Es of Uraan Pakistan. Although they narrowly missed the semi-finals, their performance made a strong national impression. The team was mentored by Engr. M. Faisal, Director, Department of Technologies and Focal Person for the SUIT (YPDC) Chapter. The event was held from 24-28 November, 2025 in Islamabad and presided over by Prof. Dr. Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Planning & Development. This achievement marks a significant milestone for SUIT Students, reinforcing its growing legacy of academic and co-curricular excellence. The Vice Chancellor later on while talking to the members of the team congratulated them for their achievement and appreciated their skills of debating and expressing their points of view with logic and indepth knowledge. He also distributed certificates of achievement among the participating students.
