Directorate of Distance Learning Management (SUIT Peshawar) conducted a meeting with representatives of enlisted Student Support Centres (SSCs) of Punjab on 16th May, 2026 at Islamabad Hotel, Islamabad

To review the key operational and academic matters in light of HEC's Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Policy 2024, the Directorate of Distance Learning Management (SUIT Peshawar) conducted a meeting with representatives of enlisted Student Support Centres (SSCs) of Punjab on 16th May, 2026 at Islamabad Hotel, Islamabad. The meeting was jointly presided over by Mr. Azmat Ali (Vice President, SUIT) and Prof. Dr. Salim ur Rahman (Vice Chancellor, SUIT). The Managers from 33 SSCs of Punjab attended the meeting along with their key staff members.

The meeting provided a platform for in-depth discussion on critical issues affecting the delivery of distance learning programs in Punjab and the participants actively engaged on the agenda. 
Review of current challenges pertaining to admissions were initially discussed and the Centres agreed on measures to streamline admissions, including enhanced use of targeted social media advertising to improve outreach and enrollment. Moreover, reaffirmation of the importance of strict adherence to the Academic Calendar, university policies, and examination protocols to maintain academic integrity and consistency across centres was discussed in detail.
Emphasis was made on the significance of accreditation with AHPC (for health sciences programs) and its role in ensuring program quality and graduate recognition was discussed. 
Deliberations on fee structure alignment and procedural matters related to the launch of new programs in accordance with the HEC's ODL Policy were made. 
The representatives of Student Support Centres welcomed the discussions and expressed appreciation for the clarity provided and the collaborative approach of SUIT. 
Participants concluded that under the umbrella of SUIT, such meetings would contribute to operational efficiency, improved coordination and quality assurance across the Student Support Centres.

Participating centres apprised the efforts of the Vice Chancellor, Vice President and the Directorate of Distance Learning Management for their continuous support to the centres. They acknowledged that though they were new entrants in this area but successfully overcame initial hurdles because of the persistent support of the University. Few of the Centre managers demanded for a training session as they recently got enlisted in Spring 2026. The Vice Chancellor and Vice President reiterated their commitment to support Student Support Centres through regular engagement and policy guidance in order to strengthen the overall delivery of education for the distant students.
