Men’s Squash team of Sarhad University, Peshawar grabbed first position in the HEC All Pakistan Intervarsity Squash (Men) Competition-2023 organized by HEC at NUST, Islamabad, from 19th to 22nd December, 2023.
SUIT was represented by a team of five players consisting of Jawad Ali Khan, 7th Semester BS-HPE, Mutahir Ali Shah, 5th Semester, BS-HPE, Shahezad Khan, 2nd Semester, BS-HPE and Kamran Hussain, 2nd Semester, BS-HPE, Department of Sports Sciences & Physical Education and Abdul Muqeet Nasir, 4th Semester, Pharm-D, Department of Pharmacy.
The team was accompanied by Mr. Muhammad Iftikhar Khan, Lecturer, Department of Sports Sciences & Physical Education as Manager and Mr. Shayan, Senior Student, Department of Sports Sciences as Coach.
In all, 14 teams from all over Pakistan participated in the moot; wherein Sarhad University, Peshawar stood winner, while GC University, Lahore stood runners up.
The players dedicated their success to the prayers of their parents, devotion of their teachers and mentors and efforts of their senior players and coaches, which brought laurels to the Province, City of Peshawar and the Sarhad University.
The Vice Chancellor, SUIT in his message of
felicitation, congratulated the players and management of their team and termed
their success, a big achievement in the game of Squash in the Province and the
University. He urged upon the players to work more harder in the future and
demonstrate their skills in a better way so as to regain the KP’s status in the
Sport of Squash.
